When I traveled here to Onetangi, it was a last minute decision on my Uncle’s advice…

YOU MUST GO THERE, you will LOVE IT..!

I rushed to catch the last ferry from Auckland. I had no accommodation booked, traveling solo, and I was running out of battery.

By the skin of my teeth, I made it.  

I booked an AirBnB up on a hill with breathtaking views over the warm and welcoming ocean.

I immediately booked a second night.

I was trying to take it all in, and I was filled with an uncontainable excitement!

As soon as I arrived, I ran down and went for a swim.

The gentle rhythm of the warm, crystal-clear water lapping softly against the shore felt like a soothing heartbeat, steady and comforting.

I saw a guy strolling towards the water, totally naked, totally carefree, enjoying this amazing place, I giggled to myself…

Above, the sky was a gentle canvas of grey clouds, with a hint of blue peeking through.

There was  a simple joy here, a quiet thrill in being present — in discovering a place I’ve never been to before, and letting myself just be, explore and enjoy.
